Caption HISTORIC NEWFIELD VILLAGE CEMETERY First marked burial 1813 Burial place of Civil War soldier Captain Joseph Gregg. He enlisted in the 137th New York Volunteers in 1862 and his unit fought at the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863. He was wounded on July 2nd and died on July 3rd. Newfield Historical Society
