James William Foster was elected captain; Thomas Turner, First Lieutenant; W.L. Hunter, Second Lieutenant; and G.H. Whitescarver, Third Lieutenant. Shortly after, Brawner's company of Prince William Cavalry joined the command. Virginia State Library 1962
