WV-005 Fort Bingamon

Marker text: FORT BINGAMON

Near this fort, established as defense against Indians, stood Samuel Bingamon's cabin. His home attacked and his wife wounded. Bingamon singlehanded shot and clubed to death all but one of a party of seven Indians.
