VA-M60 Lynchburg Defenses

Marker text: LYNCHBURG DEFENSES

The earthwork on the hilltop, two hundred yards to the east, was thrown up as a part of the system of defenses for Lynchburg, 1861-65. The city was an important supply base and railroad center.
